Getting Social at NextGen

At NextGen, we love a staff social event and the opportunity to connect away from screens. We also know that not everyone enjoys a one size fits all social event. Consequently, we aim for one unique social event a month, intentionally choosing activities that get us away from our desks and into something completely different. It’s about more than just a break; it’s about connecting as people, not just colleagues.

What have we been up to lately?

  • Getting Creative: From Easter cookie decorating to mastering the art of origami, matcha and sushi making.
  • The Classics: Arcade car racing, board games and picnics on our terrace (the views of Sydney Harbour never get old!).
  • Foodies Delight: We’ve tucked into everything from Pasta alla Ruota (yes, the giant cheese wheel!) to a custom waffle and milkshake bar.
  • Wine Tasting: Hosted by Nathan, one of our Technical Architects (and resident wine connoisseur).

Why does it matter? The work environment is so much more enjoyable when you have a genuine connection with your team. Whether we’re debating the notes of a Shiraz or mastering the art of sushi making, it’s moments like these that help us build a culture where everyone feels comfortable, included and supported.
