Victorian Mortgage Group (VMG) has moved to a new, fully digital end-to-end workflow on ApplyOnline®, bringing its broker channel onto a single platform powered by NextGen. The move, effective from 28 September 2026, sees VMG transition to ApplyOnline as its exclusive lodgement channel over the following weeks, as brokers move away from other application methods.
Victorian Mortgage Group (VMG), a family-owned non-bank lender with more than 80 years of residential mortgage financing experience, has announced it will move to ApplyOnline as its exclusive channel for all new loan application lodgements, starting from 28 September.
While retiring manual and paper-based processes, the move will also see VMG adopt a fully digitised workflow for loan processing from application to approval, reducing time to approval and giving brokers one consistent way to work with VMG.
This brings the full lending journey, from lodgement through to settlement, into the ApplyOnline platform, removing the need for assessment teams to navigate multiple systems. It’s a solution built to evolve with VMG, with the ability to add integrations, automation and decisioning capability over time as it grows, without ever having to rebuild or start again.
The new platform with NextGen also integrates automated credit checks and property title searches directly into the assessment process, drawing on Equifax data for enquiries, defaults, public record information and applicant details, to improve the quality of submissions and optimise assessment times.
From 28 September, VMG will also offer digital verification of identity through NextGenID® on all applications as well as visibility and management of MIRs directly through ApplyOnline, reducing email traffic and keeping the full application conversation within the one system.
VMG has used ApplyOnline for third party lodgement since 2022, alongside a mix of manually managed and paper-based applications. Requests for missing information on these were sent to brokers via email, adding delays to time-to-yes.
Glen McKay, EGM – Distribution & Mortgage Operations at VMG, said the move to a single digital platform was a natural next step for the business:
“Moving exclusively to ApplyOnline is about giving our broker partners a faster, simpler way to work with us. We’ve spent a lot of time managing applications manually, so bringing everything onto one platform, from lodgement through to approval, removes a lot of the friction our brokers and our team have felt in the past. As we continue to grow, having a consistent, digital process in place means we can scale without losing the flexibility and common-sense approach VMG is known for.”
Marcus Walley, Strategic Partnerships Manager at NextGen, said the partnership reflected NextGen’s focus on giving lenders of all sizes a straightforward path into all-digital workflows:
“VMG has been a valued partner of NextGen since 2022, and this next step is a great example of how a lender can move to a fully digital workflow without a lengthy, disruptive platform build. It’s a starting point VMG can build on over time, adding automation and capability as their needs grow, without ever having to start again. We’re proud to support VMG as they continue to grow their broker business.”
